The 2017/18 Premier League season will be over on Sunday.

Pep Guardiola's free-flowing Manchester City side have been magnificent - and currently lie 17 points clear of rivals Manchester United.

At the bottom, Stoke City's nine-year stay in the Premier League has come to an end, whilst West Brom, Southampton and Swansea are all fighting to stay up.

Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah - who has already netted a record equalling 31 league goals in his debut season at Anfield - won the PFA Player of the Year award recently.

Unfortunately, not everyone has had such a successful season.

On Tuesday, Goal published the Premier League's worst Team of the Season and it featured quite a few big names.

Arsenal and Chelsea each had a player included.

Goal's Worst XI

GK: Joe Hart

The West Ham goalkeeper joined on loan from Manchester City last summer but has made a number of calamitous mistakes. Incredibly, he's still in contention to be part of England's 23-man World Cup squad.

RB: Cedric Soares

Southampton's defence has leaked 55 goals this season - and Soares has 'arguably been the worst of a bad bunch, poor both at the back and going forward.'

CB: Shkodran Mustafi

The German centre-half joined Arsenal for £35m but has failed to prove himself as a competent defender thus far. He's made a remarkable amount of individual mistakes this season.

CB: Kurt Zouma

On loan from Chelsea, Zouma did not do his reputation much good at Stoke City. The 23-year-old French international has been a first team regular in the Premier League's worst defence - but he can't expect to be a regular in west London next season.

LB: Scott Malone

Huddersfield Town paid Fulham £5m for the highly-rated wing-back but it's not gone to plan at the John Smith's Stadium. Malone has been dropped by David Wagner and hasn't made a league start since March.

CM: Renato Sanches

Great things were expected of the Bayern Munich wonderkid when the Swans pulled off one of the most remarkable signings in their history. However, the 20-year-old Portuguese international produced a string of abysmal performances and did nothing to impress his parent club in the Prem.

CM: Tiemoue Bakayoko

Chelsea splashed out £39.7m on the Monaco midfielder last summer but he's really struggled in his debut season at Stamford Bridge. Bakayoko produced one of the worst 30-minute displays in the history of the Premier League during February's 4-1 defeat away at Watford.

CM: Grzegorz Krychowiak

The Polish midfielder joined West Brom on a season-long loan from PSG but has massively failed to meet expectations. It's no coincidence that they've enjoyed a late revival since Krychowiak was dropped from the first XI.

CF: Andre Gray

The 26-year-old forward has made only two starts for Watford since Javi Gracia's arrival in January. He's scored 5 goals in 30 appearances since he joined the Hornets from Burnley last summer.

CF: Shane Long

Not many Southampton fans would argue with Long's inclusion. The Irish forward has managed just two goals all season and could find himself playing in the Championship next year.

CF: Christian Benteke

The Crystal Palace striker could miss out on the World Cup with Belgium after a horrendous season in front of goal for Crystal Palace. Benteke was once a lethal hitman but his goal record this season has been embarrassing.
