The Golden State Warriors have safely advanced to the Western Conference Finals for the fourth consecutive year after dispatching the New Orleans Pelicans in five games. A 113-104 victory at home on Tuesday night clinched the series for the defending champions and they've now set up a mouthwatering tie with the Houston Rockets. The Warriors' quartet of All-Stars flexed their muscles against the Pelicans last night as they combined to score 94 points.

They fueled a huge 22-4 run in the third quarter which put the game beyond the reach of their visitors.

Stephen Curry produced his best and most efficient performance since returning from a knee injury as he finished with a team-high 28 points on 10-of-16 shooting, as well as adding seven rebounds and eight assists.

Kevin Durant posted 24 points while Klay Thompson contributed 23. Draymond Green almost notched another playoff triple-double as he went for 19 points, 14 rebounds and nine assists.

It was a night when the Dubs showed off their devastating firepower and it was simply too much for the Pelicans to handle.

This was Golden State's 15th straight win at home in the playoffs and it sees them tie an NBA record held by the Chicago Bulls.

Despite their elimination, the Pels bow out with their heads held high after exceeding expectations this season.

Making it this far in the postseason without the injured DeMarcus Cousins was unexpected and it's clear that they have a strong team to build on for next year.

Anthony Davis' monster night wasn't enough to force a game six as he ended the night with a huge double-double of 34 points and 19 rebounds.

Jrue Holiday, who enjoyed a breakout playoff campaign, had his first career playoff triple-double of 27 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.

But the inevitable conference final that everybody expected is finally set as the Warriors and Rockets can now gear up for a blockbuster showdown which begins on Monday night.
