While Boxing delivers some fantastic fights, in some cases, sometimes it is the public negotiations which can create the most entertainment.A case in point is the current dispute between the respective Gennady Golovkin and Billy Joe Saunders camps. It has been said Golovkin is very keen to fight the unbeaten British WBO middleweight as he aims to own all of the recognised middleweight titles. However, his trainer Abel Sanchez does not believe that is a fair chance of happening.“Look, we know now that he’s never gonna be the unified champion,” he said, per Boxing Scene."Saunders is never gonna fight him because, like I said a little while ago, is looking for lottery money."He’s waiting for that opportunity and Saunders doesn’t wanna fight him.”But Frank Warren, the promoter of Saunders, has reacted on Twitter disputing those claims. He posted: "This is just simply not true!@bjsaunders_ signed his part of the contract to face @GGGBoxing in Kazakhstan last June and then GGG’s side wasn’t signed."If you are really serious about fighting for all the belts, get your promoter to call me and let’s get the fight made. FW."

To many peoples eyes, Golovkin is one of best pound-for-pound fighters in the sport's history and his record of 38 wins from 39 fights (1 draw) is a testament to that.

The two fighters were close to meeting in June last year, but Golovkin called time on negotiations when he believed there wasn't enough time between that fight, and the start of his training camp for the Canelo Alvarez bout, which was a contentious draw.

Saunders 28, who has a perfect record (26-0, 12 by KO), is set to take on the veteran Martin Murray at the O2 Arena in June.

For boxing observers, they will know that eventually these fights usually come to fruition as it is all about promoters getting the best deal for their own fighters.

So, for fans of Golovkin and Saunders, while there will presently be a deal of frustration, don't give up on that hope just yet.
