On Wednesday, Australian tennis bad boy Bernard Tomic recorded his first win since he made a comment about 'counting his millions' in January. After four months without a win, Tomic picked up a hard-fought win over French wildcard Geoffrey Blancaneaux in three sets.A 6-4 2-6 7-5 score meant the former world number seventeen was victorious and progresses onto the next round where he faces another local wildcard Johan Tatlot. In January when the Australian failed to qualify for the Australian Open after being knocked out by world number 281 Lorenzo Sonego in the final qualifying round. After the embarrassing defeat, Tomic said, "I just count money, that's all I do. I count my millions."You go do what I did. You go make thirteen, fourteen million. Good luck guys, bye bye."He was ridiculed for it at the time and just a few months on, it arguably looks even more ridiculous now when you consider that win over Blancaneaux earned Tomic just $3,475, according to the Daily Mail. A figure that probably won't take him too long to count up in comparison to his 'millions'...Since this controversial comment was made, Tomic has failed to win a single match and endured a fairly disastrous appearance on Australia's 'I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.'He lasted just three days before leaving the jungle, becoming the first ever contestant to quit in the reality show's history."I thought I'd be super happy, camping for the first time, being around new people ... Half the time during the day, I'm just depressed," he told Real Housewives of Melbourne star Jackie Gillies."I've never really had time to think about my thoughts. I've always had people around, my mobile phone ... everything was so fast-paced. Everything's slowed down in the last few days.

"I don’t want to spend half my time depressed here, thinking about how I played last year and where I should be."

This capped off a hard 2018 so far for the 25-year-old, but he will hope that his first win on Tuesday will start the beginning of a successful run for the tennis player that has undoubted potential.
