WWE's latest pay-per-view (PPV) event, Backlash, this past weekend didn't sit too well with professional wrestling fans.Fans thought the night was looking bright after Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins and The Miz tore the house down with their opening bout of the event, but from then on out - with the exception of AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura - it was a complete and utter disappointment. After Rollins and Miz none of the matches really seemed to capture fans' attention.Styles and Nakamura had the chance to save the card, and almost did by putting on an epic fight, but the No Contest ending was a hug let down and essentially killed what had been done inside the ring for the past 20 minutes. The main event of the evening didn't help things at all. Roman Reigns - the most hated man in WWE despite continuously being pushed as a top babyface - was booed out of the building when he came out for his match with Samoa Joe.Joe is a big fan favorite and received some cheers, but both men were being booed for a lackluster performance in the main event of a PPV.The match was simply boring - plain and simple, with nothing really getting fans excited.Fans chanted "beat the traffic," "CM Punk," "this is boring," and much more during the match. Some fans were actually leaving the arena in the middle of the match, showing just how little people care about Reigns right now:This is what really sent the push-back from fans on Reigns to a whole different level. Heat is good for a top star, but to have fans walk out before their match even finishes, not caring what happens to or with them, is a very bold statement to say the least. It seems Vince McMahon took note of this and had a real "eye opener" moment at Backlash when fans begun walking out, this according to a report from Slice Wrestling on Twitter.Apparently Vince holds the New York and New Jersey crowds in higher regard than all others, and to see them walking out on Roman Reigns - this especially angered him:
What are your thoughts on Vince having an eye opener moment from fans walking out? Do you think there will be any big changes? And who do you think should be pushed as WWE's top star? Let us know your thoughts on the matter in the comments section below!
