Last season, you may remember Chelsea missed a great opportunity to put serious pressure on Liverpool in their battle to finish in the top four. The Blues would have gone level on points with Liverpool with a win over Huddersfield but they were held to a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge. It meant that Liverpool would have secured a spot in this season’s Champions League with a draw against Brighton.Chelsea were forced to prepare themselves for the Europa League following a deeply disappointing defence of their Premier League title. There were rumours that Antonio Conte would leave the club at the end of the season - which proved true.

Chelsea’s squad is an ageing one, and it requires an overhaul at the end of the season. That was the case last season under Conte and it remains the case now.

It’s an important summer indeed for the club - and for Sarri, if he lasts that long.

Funny Chelsea fan

The frustration of Chelsea fans last season was summed up perfectly by a fan who became something of an internet hero.

Fans laughed along on social media as a female supporter was clearly seen shouting: “You’re pathetic!” after a Huddersfield player went down with 'cramp'.

It’s the dismissal with the hand at the end of the clip that really makes it.

Check it out below.

Hilarious. It’s not quite ArsenalFanTV levels of vitriol, but it’s highly entertaining nonetheless.

The clip was quickly shared by fans on Twitter.

'She'll become a meme'

“Blonde woman at Chelsea is going to become a meme,” Twitter user @ChrisN_H wrote.

He’s right. You can guarantee that the gif will be shared upon Chelsea’s next failings.

We've all been that angry at a football match before.

But we haven't always been caught on Sky Sports.

Conte was forced to defend himself at full-time after his decision to leave Hazard on the bench to start the match backfired.

The Belgian was introduced on the hour mark but he couldn’t make a difference.

When asked if Hazard had been rested for Saturday’s FA Cup final against Manchester United, Conte replied: “No, absolutely not.

"It's stupid if we think rotation was a problem. We are Chelsea. We have a big squad and players who can play the whole game, but they must win.”

Yet Conte should be aware that winning is more difficult when Hazard doesn’t play.
