It was joy for Huddersfield as they secured their place in the Premier League next season with a 1-1 draw against Chelsea.David Wagner’s side opened the scoring through Laurent Depoitre’s goal and then put up a wall that Chelsea couldn’t break through after Marcos Alonso equalised.“This is an absolute overachievement, bigger than the promotion last season,” Wagner said. “Last year we were predicted to be relegated from the Championship and we got promoted.“This season we were predicted to be a team relegated by miles, and I understand it.“We work under circumstances which are not even Championship circumstances.“But part of our DNA, the Huddersfield Town DNA, is to try it. To have passion, desire, spirit... how big you are doesn’t count for everything.”For Chelsea, they are now staring at the prospect of Europa League football next season.

Kante's run

The Blues had the chance to draw level on points with Liverpool ahead of the final round of fixtures but now, the Reds need just a point against Brighton on Sunday to condemn Chelsea to a fifth-placed finish.

Still, at least N’Golo Kante is doing incredible things.

While some of Antonio Conte’s players have disappointed this season, Kante certainly hasn’t.

Against Huddersfield, he produced a brilliant run - taking on five players - that was only brought to an end when he was lost his balance.

For a moment, Kante turned into Lionel Messi.

The clip highlights the Frenchman’s versatility - he is well known for what he does as a defensive midfielder, but he also possesses the ability to beat players.

Football fans on Twitter were amazed by Kante’s run.

“Kante just did a Messi..What really can't he do,” Twitter user @K_Ansongkwame1 wrote.

He’s right - what can’t Kante do?

In a deeply disappointing evening for Chelsea and Antonio Conte, who could leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season, the 27-year-old was a positive.

football.london wrote about Kante’s display: “Was the one player to really come out of the game with a lot of credit. Very good defensively and did one run in the first half that made him look like Maradona.

“Continued to try to get Chelsea going and when they were all out attack it was Kante who held them together at the back.”

Whoever Chelsea’s manager is next season, they will be comforted in the knowledge that Kante is an option.
