Last night, the Philadelphia 76ers were eliminated from this year's playoffs by the Boston Celtics after losing their second-round series 4-1 overall with another defeat in Game 5, but the future still looks very bright for their franchise.

The Celtics advanced to play the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Finals as they.won 114-112 against the Sixers at the TD Garden in Boston on Wednesday night. Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons made sure Philadelphia weren't eliminated from the playoffs without a fight.

Embiid finished the game with 27 points, 12 rebounds, and four assists while shooting 9-of-18 from the field, while Simmons was behind him with 18 points, eight rebounds, and six assists while shooting 8-of-15 from the field.

Shortly after the game had finished last night, Simmons approached Embiid to tell him an important message which many 76ers fans will love. The center recalled the conversations while speaking to the media afterward.

According to ESPN, Embiid revealed that Simmons said to him: "He was, like, 'There's going to be a lot of rings on these.'"

The Sixers big man agreed, as he said: "We have a bright future. We're going to be fine."

As the 'The Process' Embiid believes it's paying off, as he said: "Looking at where we are, it paid off. We definitely have more to show.

"I feel like we had more [to show]. We got a lot of talented guys; we didn't play our best. We feel like when everybody is on, we're unbeatable. We committed a lot of mistakes [in the series]. We've got to learn from it."

Many thought Philadelphia would have a chance against Boston since they were without Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward, but the Celtics surprised the Sixers and the rest of the NBA by winning the series in five games.

Simmons certainly felt like there was a lot more basketball left to be played, as he said: "The feeling right now is I didn't want to be done. I felt like I had lot more to go."

Sixers fans will love this confidence amongst their own players as it truly means there could be a bright future ahead of this group of players. However, they'll be disappointed they're now out of the playoffs, especially after entering the postseason on a 16-game winning streak and dispatching the Miami Heat in five games in the first round.
