Arda Turan and Barcelona were never a match made in heaven. The Turkish playmaker joined the Blaugrana in quite bizarre circumstances back in 2015, as he was unable to actually make his debut for the club for six months. While his £24m move from Atletico Madrid had gone through, Barca's transfer ban at the time meant that he was ineligible to play until January. And after that, he didn't exactly warm to his new surroundings very well. There was quality in fits and bursts, but he just couldn't break into the team consistently. To be fair, any attacker would have struggled with Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar all around.Even after Neymar's departure in the summer, Turan didn't stand much of a chance, leading to him agreeing a two-year loan deal with Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir. The 31-year-old managed two goals and one assist in 11 appearances for the club, but has got himself into some serious trouble with the Turkish FA.In fact, Turan is set to miss half of the 2018/19 season as he picked up a 16-game ban.In one of Basaksehir's biggest games of the season - with the score 1-1 in the final minute - Turan reacted horrendously to one of the linesman's calls, leading to him actually pushing the official.

While it's not overly violent, it's simply disgraceful and embarrassingly unprofessional from a player who should know better. He was duly shown a red card.

You have to say fair play to the Turkish FA as well for cracking down and protecting their employees.

Turan is no stranger to behaviour like this, with perhaps the best example being him trying to throw his boot at an official during his days with Atletico.

The 16-game ban is one of the biggest seen in modern day European football and in truth, he deserves every last bit of it.
