Manchester City's Premier League campaign this season will never be forgotten.

Never before has a team been this dominant, with City sealing the title back in March, scoring the most goals ever in a single season (105 so far) and while recording the most wins in one single campaign.

Their attacking play under Pep Guardiola has been borderline ridiculous, with opposing teams unable to cope with the likes of David Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and Leroy Sane.

However, the defensive side of their game has perhaps gone under the radar, with the majority of the players at the back also excelling.

Perhaps their best signing of last summer was bringing in £35m goalkeeper Ederson from Benfica.

The Brazilian is as gifted as a midfielder with the ball at his feet, is an outstanding shot-stopper and can pass the ball like an absolute machine.

In fact, a lot of his long-range passes this season have left football fans jaw-dropped.

The accuracy he has from his own area is unbelievable, while the power he generates is almost superhuman.

And now, Ederson has been handsomely rewarded for his almost unique ability to boot a ball up the field.

The 24-year-old posted an image on his personal Instagram holding a Guinness World Record certificate, with the Brazilian officially awarded the longest drop-kick in sport's history.

EDERSON'S HONOUR

Wow, that is unreal.

It is unclear just when the record was broken by Ederson, but there is no denying his place in the famous book.

Amazingly, City's number one will probably not be starting at the World Cup for the Selecao, with Roma's Alisson Becker commanding that spot.

Nevertheless, no one can deny that City finally have a world-class goalkeeper these days.
