The Miz takes pride in being a champion in WWE, regardless of what title he's holding, he wants to do everything in his power to ensure prestige to the strap around his waist at the time.

Currently, The Miz isn't a champion in the company anymore as he lost his Intercontinental Title to Seth Rollins at WrestleMania last month. He's now on SmackDown Live which features the United States and WWE Titles.

It seems that The A-Lister has re-focused his sights on once again becoming WWE Champion and getting back to the top of the WWE mountain.

During his current run as a heel Miz has impressed wrestling legends and fans alike with his amazing ability on the mic.

Not only that, but despite have an in-ring style that is rather simplistic, he consistently puts on entertaining matches with whoever he's working against.

Recently he and Seth Rollins went on-on-one at Backlash in Miz's rematch for the Intercontinental Title. For a pay-per-view (PPV) that received an overall poor review, their match was certainly a Match Of The Year candidate and the only bright spot of the event.

With that being said, Miz now has his eyes locked on the WWE Title that is currently held by AJ Styles. In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated The Miz verbally attacked WWE Champion AJ Styles to lay the foundation for his pursuit of the strap.

He also made a very interesting comment about how WWE has been booking their World Title lately. Miz said that it frustrates him when the WWE Title isn't defended as the main event of a PPV anymore.

Miz believes that if he becomes WWE Champion again he'll be able to restore the title's legacy (quotes via Sports Illustrated):

“My goal is to make the WWE championship as relevant and prestigious as it should be,” said The Miz, who won his qualifying match last night on SmackDown to enter into the Money in the Bank match in June for a shot at the title.

“Do I think AJ Styles is doing a terrific job as WWE champion? Absolutely.

“But that WWE championship should be in the main event of every single WWE pay per view. It upsets me when I see that it is not.

“My goal is to not only win the Money in the Bank contract, cash it in and become WWE champion,” said The Miz. “I want to put that title back where it belongs: the main event.”
