Brock Lesnar is still your WWE Universal Champion, but don't expect that title to be defended anytime soon.

The Beast is currently in a very odd place with his athletic career. He reigns as the Universal Champion, however, there is a great deal of interest from Lesnar in returning to the UFC to continue his mixed martial arts (MMA) career.

Lesnar won the WWE Universal Championship back at WrestleMania 33 last year in Orlando. He defeated Goldberg in a hard-hitting affair to capture the Universal Throne.

A year later; after downing challengers such as Samoa Joe, Braun Strowman, and Roman Reigns, Lesnar still stands on top above all others and has retained his Universal Title.

Many expected Lesnar to drop the belt at WrestleMania 34 this past April to Roman Reigns, but in the end The Beast bloodied The Big Dog badly and won after hitting a sixth F5.

Some thought the reason Lesnar retained the title was so that he could drop it to Reigns at the Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia so that they'd receive a better reaction. That didn't pan out to be true either, as Lesnar again retained the belt.

Now, Lesnar is expected to miss a significant period of time from WWE competition and has no plans to defend the title at the Money In The Bank pay-per-view (PPV).

A rumor recently started to go around this morning indicating that the reason Lesnar won't be defending his title at Money In The Bank is because he's training for his UFC return.

To add even more to that rumor, it suggested the news came from Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Ringside News reports that this is not true.

Meltzer even took to Twitter to note that his newsletter didn't indicate anything of the sort. For those fans who bought into the false rumors that Lesnar is missing Money In The Bank to train for the UFC - it's simply not the case.

In regards to Lesnar's UFC future, he still needs to enter the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) drug testing pool for six months of clean tests before he can return to the fight game.

As for Lesnar's WWE future, one can expect him to return to build his next feud around Extreme Rules or SummerSlam.

What are your thoughts on the rumors that Lesnar is missing Money In The Bank to train for a UFC fight? Do you think that Lesnar is going to fight in the UFC before he defends his Universal Title again? And who would you like to see Lesnar feud with for the Universal Title?
