British professional boxer Hughie Fury is slowly rising from the shadows of cousin Tyson Fury and trying to make his mark in the heavyweight division.

With 21 fights already fought at such an early stage of his pro career, Hughie Fury has 20 wins to his name, with a 50% knockout ratio.

His only solitary loss came in September last against former WBO champion Joseph Parker, where he put in a more than respectable display.

The younger Fury is set to return to action this weekend at the Macron Stadium in Bolton to take on Sam Sexton for the British heavyweight title.

But the subject of debate among the boxing faithful has been whether Hughie would ever challenge Tyson for a bout in the coming months after the latter recently announced his return to the sport.

However, it has been revealed the two Furys have not actually spoken since Tyson split from previous trainer Peter Fury, Hughie's father.

Nevertheless, Hughie claims he would never face his 29-year-old cousin, regardless of how their relationship is.

Speaking on the entire scenario, the 23-year-old said: “I definitely wouldn’t fight him [Tyson]. I wouldn’t lower myself to that level," per The Mirror.

“Family is family, even if you don’t speak. You don’t put yourself in the ring just for money.

“I’ve not spoken to him much, but I wish him all the best and I hope he does well. If he gets a world title, he gets one. I’ve not got animosity for anyone.”

However, he did reveal the one fight he is eyeing up for himself after the Sexton clash: Anthony Joshua.

“Those are the fights I want. I believe styles make fights and I believe I’m Joshua’s worst nightmare," he added.

“He’s not fought anyone who can box. I’d love that fight and hopefully one day I’ll get it.”

The former world title challenger disclosed he remains fully focused on his upcoming contest against Sexton.

“I need to beat Sam Sexton first and I’m not looking any further ahead than Saturday.

“Sam seems a decent man and I respect him outside of the ring. When the bell goes in there, it’s a different story.”

Tyson Fury is gearing up for a sensational comeback after two-and-half years on June 9 at the Manchester Arena, though, his opponent on the night is yet to be named.

Meanwhile, AJ and his promoter Eddie Hearn is pushing for a mega-money showdown against WBC champion Deontay Wilder in the latter part of 2018.
