Drew McIntyre is back on the WWE's main roster after several years of being away, but this time things are much different for the Scotsman.

McIntyre previously signed with WWE back in 2007 when he was sent to the company's then-developmental territory of Florida Championship Wrestling.

After spending two years in developmental, McIntyre made his man roster debut in 2009 on SmackDown.

He would eventually make a big splash and captured the Intercontinental Championship. Somewhere along the line, McIntyre's singles push fell off and he became a comedic act when he joined the Three Man Band faction alongside Heath Slater and Jinder Mahal.

To say the least, things didn't work out between McIntyre and WWE from then on out, and he was subsequently handed his walking papers in June of 2014. McIntyre reinvented his image and returned to the indy scene.

From their he did work with promotions such as ICW, Evolve, TNA, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), and many more. After spending a few years on the indies, McIntyre and WWE re-opened talks to bring him back into the fold.

In April of 2017 it was announced that McIntyre signed a deal to return to WWE as a part of their NXT brand.

After some great rivalries against the likes of Bobby Roode, Adam Cole, and Andrade "Cien" Almas, McIntyre's push was halted as he suffered a torn bicep.

McIntyre made his return from injury on the April 16th episode of Monday Night RAW, making his second main roster debut alongside Dolph Ziggler as they attacked Titus Worldwide.

Now, McIntyre and Ziggler seem intent on taking over RAW's tag team division before eventually splitting off their own separate ways and continuing their singles career.

McIntyre recently spoke to the WWE website about his return to the company and the main roster, and noted a big change in the WWE and the RAW locker room since his last run.

He noted people are a lot more relaxed nowadays than they used to be (quotes via Wrestling Inc.):

"I remember thinking, 'Man, people are so relaxed now,' acting like it's not live Raw. There's no tension in the air. Everyone is just getting along like we're at band camp."

"There are Superstars that deserve to be at the top and do give everything. But unfortunately, a vast majority wouldn't have survived 11 years ago when I got signed.

"Those who ask themselves, 'Is he talking about me?' Positive or negative, the answer is probably yes."

What are your thoughts on McIntyre's comments regarding how the WWE's locker room has changed since his last run with the company? What do you think of how WWE is using McIntyre on RAW right now? And do you think he'll have a successful singles run once he ventures off from Ziggler? Let us know your thoughts on the matter in the comments section below!
