A third fight between these two fighters appears to be happening.

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz has changed his tune on a potential trilogy fight with fellow former UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell.

Ortiz finished up his successful career when submitted Chael Sonnen at Bellator 170 last year.

There is history between Ortiz and Liddell as they have fought each other twice. Liddell stopped Ortiz in both fights.

Their rematch for the light heavyweight title at UFC 66 was the most successful UFC event ever at the time. With their track record, the third fight between them could do very good business.

Ortiz retired as an early pioneer and one of the true legends of the sport. His accomplishments speak for themselves as he is a UFC Hall of Famer and has fought the biggest names in MMA.

Liddell has not fought since June of 2010 and is now 47 years old. He decided to retire after losing five of his last six bouts, four of them by vicious knockout.

In the past, Liddell has denied any plans for a comeback, but he’s also left the door open saying he could be persuaded out of retirement if the money was right.
Just last week, Oscar De La Hoya teased starting a new MMA promotion alongside Liddell. In this interview with TMZ, Liddell made it clear that he is making a comeback. Whether that actually happens remains to be seen. unclear.

Ortiz recently took to his Instagram account to announce that he plans on coming out of retirement for only one fight and that would be against his arch-rival Liddell.
