Dean Ambrose's bicep injury several months ago couldn't have come at a worse time for WWE.

The company was in the middle of a major Shield reunion built to help get Roman Reigns over before he begun his Universal Championship pursuit.

The reunion was plagued by a viral disease that went rampant in the WWE locker room, as well as an Ambrose injury that cut things short.

After Ambrose suffered the injury he was placed on the shelve for an estimated time period of about nine months.

It was expected that Ambrose would return to WWE duty at WrestleMania week as he was initially advertised for an appearance during WWE Axxess.

However, it was a bad sign when WWE pulled Ambrose from the appearance and he missed WrestleMania all together. The injury forced Ambrose to miss out on what could've been a great feud against Samoa Joe.

In a recent update from PWInsider, Ambrose has relocated to Birmingham, Alabama in order to focus more on his rehab and be closer to WWE's medical facility. The Lunatic Fringe is hoping to make as speedy a recovery as possible.

It is also being reported that WWE officials are hopeful that Ambrose could make his return to the ring by summer of this year.

Due to the Superstar Shake-Up recently it's unclear which brand WWE is planning to bring Ambrose back to. With all that being said, Ambrose's recovery is his prime focus at the moment.

When he is finally able to return it will be good for the WWE to have back another major star to implicate into storylines.

With a shortage of top heels at the moment, it'd be a good idea to consider turning Ambrose when he does come back to WWE TV.

Perhaps a move to SmackDown Live could allow him to feud with Samoa Joe, as he's storyline responsible for Ambrose missing all this time away.

What are your thoughts on Ambrose likely returning to the ring by this summer? Do you think that WWE will be turning him heel upon his return? And what brand would you like to see him on when he does finally make his return? Let us know your thoughts on the matter in the comments section below!
