Roman Reigns has been nearly universally rejected to become the next big face of the WWE, following in John Cena's footsteps.

Reigns got his start in The Shield alongside Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins several years ago before the three men went their separate ways. Since then, all three men have had their respective World Title reigns.

Despite that all three men have had success as singles competitors, Reigns seems to have been selected by WWE brass to be the new face of the company.

Reigns has had run-ins with some of the biggest stars in the company today; such as John Cena, Samoa Joe, Braun Strowman, and many more. He was even selected to be the second-ever man to have defeated The Undertaker at WrestleMania.

The Big Dog won the Elimination Chamber match late last year to punch his ticket to WrestleMania 34, where he'd challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship.

WWE had built up this storyline for years, starting with Brock Lesnar becoming the first man to defeat The Undertaker at WrestleMania at WrestleMania 30, to Reigns getting his Mania win over Taker last year.

The idea was to have the only two men to have ever defeated The Undertaker at WrestleMania go head-to-head to determine who's yard the WWE ring is.

Many believed that the plan was to have Reign's crowning achievement take place at WrestleMania where he'd defeat Lesnar and win the title. Instead, Lesnar retained his title and the saga between he and the Samoan continues.

Despite WWE pushing Reigns as a top star, WWE fans continuously boo him relentlessly when he appears on WWE TV. With this being said, many have said it's time to turn Reigns heel so his character makes more sense.

This has been a longstanding debate amongst WWE fans, a debate Monday Night RAW General Manager Kurt Angle recently got in on during a Q&A session on his Facebook page.

Angle noted that he doesn't think it matters if Reigns was turned or not, as he's still garnering a reaction and people care about him (quotes via SEScoops):

“Yes and no. The fans continue to respond to Roman…whether it’s a positive or negative response. Fans CARE about him.

"Whether he stays face or turns heel, he will always be “the guy”. He gets a huge response every time he comes out to the stage. It’s called popularity. And he’s really good. ”

What are your thoughts on Angle's take regarding if WWE should turn Reigns heel or not? Do you think WWE will turn Reigns heel anytime soon? Or will they find a way to get him on the side of the WWE crowd? Let us know your thoughts on the matter in the comments section below!
