Today is the final day of Arsene Wenger’s spell as Arsenal Manager, as the club prepare to begin a new era.

While recent years have been difficult, the Frenchman moved the Gunners to their new stadium, and delivered a glut of trophies in his first decade at the club.

Things may not have ended perfectly, but the club is clearly in a better place than when he arrived.

This is something of a crossroads for Arsenal, and it is clear they need to make the right choice on appointing a new boss.

Many names have been linked to the North London club, however weeks after news of Wenger’s departure broke an appointment still doesn’t appear imminent.

Gary Neville is one of the most vocal pundits in the English game, and speaking on Sky Sports, the Manchester United legend was brutal on the struggles related to Arsenal’s efforts to replace Wenger so far.

“I'm shocked at the process that has gone on since (the announcement)”, Neville said.

“To be fair, we should all celebrate Arsene Wenger and say thank you very much, but Arsenal are making a right mess of what's gone on since. They're all over the place!

“If you look at Arsenal and you talk about Luis Enrique, they found out he wanted too much money. What, they found out after they approached him he wanted too much money?

“These things should be done. I don't know the hierarchy at Arsenal in terms of who deals with it now, but to me it seems to me they've not dealt with it particularly well.

“They should have their guy lined up ready to go. To me it's a mess since he said he's going.”

Closely associated to Manchester United, Neville knows how difficult a big managerial change can be, after the well-documented problems David Moyes et all faced when replacing Sir Alex Ferguson.

Although Moyes didn’t work out, the Red Devils did have a plan in place. Arsenal will have to act quickly to ensure that their indecisiveness doesn’t cost them.
