Ryan Bader has advanced to the next round of the Bellator MMA heavyweight grand prix, and he did it in spectacular fashion.

During last night's (Sat. May 12, 2018) Bellator 199 event, Bader knocked out King Mo in just 15 seconds with a big left hook that he followed up with ground-and-pound. Bader, who is currently Bellator MMA's light heavyweight champion, is on a quest to become a dual-weight champion:

Bader got some sweet revenge from he and Mo's days in college wrestling, where Bader was defeated in their match-up.

He is currently on a five-fight win streak and has won four of those contests via knockout. Bader was previously signed to the UFC roster where he shared the Octagon with the likes of Jon Jones, Tito Ortiz, Lyoto Machida, Glover Teixeira, and Anthony Joshua.

At one point Bader looked like he'd be poised to challenge for the UFC's 205-pound title. He racked up a five-fight win streak that was unceremoniously ended via first round knockout by Anthony "Rumble" Johnson.

Following his defeat to Johnson, Bader racked up two victories in a row before his contract with the UFC expired. He decided to move on from the UFC and pursue a title in Bellator MMA.

As for King Mo, he has had a rather difficult string of fights recently. Mo has only won two of his last five fights inside the cage.

He is a longtime Bellator MMA veteran, having competed with the promotion since 2013. Mo is also a former light heavyweight champion for the now defunct Strikeforce promotion.

Both of these men, Bader and Mo, are legends at the light heavyweight division; but it was Bader who got the better of the two last night.

In regards to the Bellator grand prix heavyweight tournament, Chael Sonnen recently defeated Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, and Fedor Emelianenko defeated Frank Mir. Now Emelianenko and Sonnen are now set to clash.

It's possible the winner of that fight could take on Bader next. In the end, it should be interesting to see how the tournament shakes out.

What are your thoughts on Bader's knockout of Mo last night in the Bellator MMA heavyweight grand prix tournament? Do you think that Bader has a shot at winning the entire tournament?
