The Boston Celtics sent out a strong statement of intent as they demolished the Cleveland Cavaliers in game one of their Eastern Conference Finals series. They led the entire way and cruised to a 108-83 win in front of a raucous and sell-out crowd inside TD Garden.Jaylen Brown, Al Horford and Marcus Morris were the stars of the show on the night as they produced terrific displays on both ends of the floor.

Brown led the team in scoring with 23 points while Horford added 20 points on an efficient 8-of-10 shooting.

Morris posted a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds on 7-of-12 from the field and also backed up his claims that he could effectively guard LeBron James.

As the primary defender on the Cavs superstar, he held him to just 15 points on 5-of-16 shooting in what was an uncharacteristically inefficient night for him.

That was a playoff-low for James while he also produced a playoff-high seven turnovers in a miserable night in Boston where he delivered one of his worst postseason displays.

The Celtics set the tone early and outscored the Cavaliers 36-18 in a dominant first quarter. They led by as many as 29 points in a one-sided affair.

Cleveland missed its first 14 three-point attempts and simply couldn't get anything to fall from beyond the arc for much of the contest as they finished 4-of-26 from downtown.

Kevin Love was their leading scorer on the night with 17 points but he also had a horrible shooting performance going 5-of-14.

It was a game to forget for the Cavs as they were outplayed and outfought by the home team all night and never got to within single figures once the Celtics took a double-digit lead.

After the game, LeBron said he has "zero level of concern" but the manner of this defeat should be worrying for the Ohio-based outfit.

They'll need a response in Tuesday night's game two against a Boston team that continues to impress and look dangerous every time they step out on the floor.
