There have been no shortage of impressive goals in the Premier League this season.
Wayne Rooney rolled back the years with a spectacular strike from the halfway line against Everton in November, Victor Wanyama took the Anfield net to pieces with his blockbuster strike in February and Charlie Daniels sent a rip-roarer past Ederson in the opening weeks of the season.
That's not to mention brilliant finishes from the likes of Antonio Valencia, Pedro Obiang and Sofian Boufal.
Nevertheless, none of the above took home the prize of Match of the Day's Goal of the Season.
After a rather questionable winner in 2014-15, the BBC programme have allowed viewers to vote on their top three goals from 10 nominees before giving the final decision to the pundits in the studio.
Vardy won MOTD Goal of the Season
This season, the task was put before Alan Shearer and Ian Wright and what better duo to choose than two of the competition's greatest ever strikers?
Fans whittled down the competition to Jamie Vardy vs West Brom, Mohamed Salah vs Tottenham and Rooney vs West Ham.
A tough decision, no doubt, but in the end both Shearer and Wright settled on Vardy.
His strike against West Brom was seriously impressive with the England striker finishing on the full volley, with the ball floated over his shoulder and upon his weaker left-foot. Ninety nine times out of one hundred, it flies into Row Z or bobbles comfortably wide.
A worthy winner no doubt but it turns out Shearer actually had another strike in mind.
Shearer actually thought Willian vs Brighton
Writing in his column for The Sun, the pundit dished out his Premier League awards and revealed that his favourite was a strike that Match of the Day didn't even nominate - Willian's team goal vs Brighton.
Shearer penned: "It has not been a great league season for Chelsea but their second goal in the 4-0 win at Brighton on January 20, after only six minutes, showed just what they can do.
"Willian started and finished the move, first firing a pass to Eden Hazard, who flicked it on to Michy Batshuayi.
"He in turn back-heeled a pass to the Brazilian and he buried a shot from 18 yards."
If team goals are your cup of tea, look no further than Willian's effort.
Chelsea have looked a shadow of the team they were last season, but their slick move at the Amex Stadium shows the magic hasn't entirely left them this year.
In the end, though, the effort didn't make the cut and it was a different team goal - Leroy Sane's vs Arsenal - that made the list of nominees.
And as a result, Vardy is well and truly having a party.
