Christian Dailly has signed a new one-year deal at Charlton, the club confirmed on Thursday afternoon.

The experienced centre-half, last season's player of the year, will remain at the club until summer 2011.

Manager Phil Parkinson told the official website: "It's great news for the club, and we're very pleased to be able to extend Christian's contract for the forthcoming season."

He added: "We're in the middle of making some big changes, and it's important to keep some continuity in the squad, so Christian's experience will be invaluable.

"His influence on the team, on and off the pitch, was there for everyone to see last season, and it's an important signing for us."
