CM Punk is getting set to fight the second-ever bout of his mixed martial arts (MMA) career next month. The former WWE Champion is getting set to take on Mike "The Truth" Jackson in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois on the main card of the UFC 225 pay-per-view (PPV) event. Punk made his professional MMA debut back in 2016 when he fought welterweight prospect Mickey Gall.Gall is a Gracie jiu-jitsu brown belt who is extremely talented on the ground. He immediately took Punk down, battered him with ground-and-pound, before locking in a rear-naked choke to force the tap a few minutes later.Interestingly enough, Gall got the opportunity to welcome Punk into the UFC by defeating Mike Jackson. Jackson actually lasted less time in the Octagon with Gall than Punk did, as he was submitted in under a minute. Now Jackson is back in the UFC and will be challenging Punk, who hopes to pick up the very first win of his fighting career against a man who shares the same 0-1 record as he does.Punk has been taking a lot of criticism regarding his jump over to the UFC. From his beginnings in WWE as a professional wrestler - which many like to call "fake fighting" - to stepping into the cage and doing the real thing. Some of that criticism comes from WWE Superstars themselves. Our very own Alex McCarthy got to speak with former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns today (Mon. May 14, 2018) as the WWE is currently in the UK for its European tour.During the interview Reigns was asked if he'd be tuning in to watch Punk's next fight. The Big Dog took the chance to absolutely destroy The Cult Of Personality, saying "If it lasts more than 30 seconds."

Obviously Punk lasted longer than 30 seconds in his fight with Mickey Gall, as he was finished at the 2:14 mark. But Punk still had a poor showing inside the cage against a man way more skilled than him, and was completely dominated from bell to bell.

It seems that since leaving WWE back in January of 2014, Punk doesn't have any supporters of his new venture at the top of WWE's totem pole - well, at least with Roman Reigns.

Here's how fans reacted to Reigns' comment:

What are your thoughts on Reigns destroying Punk in regards to his MMA career? Do you think that Punk will be able to pick up the win against Jackson next month in Chicago? Or will he again succumb to a more skilled martial artist? Let us know your thoughts on the matter in the comments section below!
