In just under 24 hours time, Gareth Southgate will announce his 23-man England squad for this summer's World Cup in Russia.A few names are guaranteed to make the cut, such as Tottenham duo Harry Kane and Eric Dier, Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson and Manchester City's Raheem Sterling. But elsewhere there's a lot of uncertainty, such as which centre-backs Southgate will take with him and who will partner Henderson in the middle of the park.A young and exuberant team could be the way forward and Gary Neville believes Southgate will pick a squad that has one eye on the future."There's a lot of young players," said Neville recently. "I think Gareth's done a good job. I think that he'll pick a team, or squad should I say, that's progressive."I'm hoping those experiences that a lot of those younger players have had stand them in good stead."It's going to be tough, World Cups are really tough. It'd be wrong to put huge pressure on the team, but it'd also be wrong to say it'd be great just to get out of the group.

YOUTH ALL THE WAY

"Ultimately, England should always feel as though they can do well, even though it's not always happened. I always remain optimistic.

"It's the nature of the Englishman to always feel spirited and wanting the team to do well, I want them to do really well. Obviously a lot of those lads I know and I think they're really food lads."

One of the biggest decisions Southgate will have to make is whether or not to include Arsenal's Jack Wilshere - but it would appear his mind is already made up.

According to the Mirror's John Cross, Wilshere will NOT be going to Russia this summer and a surprise name will take his place in midfield.

Despite spending all season at left-back for Manchester City, Fabian Delph has reportedly been selected for the final 23-man squad.

Eh? Delph has performed very well for City this season when required but the fact is he hasn't been playing in midfield, whereas Wilshere has made almost 40 appearances for Arsenal.

Wilshere is widely regarded as England's best central player because of what he can offer going forward and football fans - not just Arsenal - aren't happy in the slightest about his exclusion.
