WWE fans might argue that Brock Lesnar doesn’t even have a gimmick in WWE, as there’s perhaps nobody more believable as a legitimate fighter than The Beast.

Throughout the years, the Lesnar 'character' hasn’t really changed a lot. He was brought into the company based off an impressive amateur wrestling career and right off the bat on the main roster, he was thrown into the deep end to cause destruction.

THE BEAST

Along the way, he defeated some huge names before ending his first, short stint in WWE to pursue other ventures. He might have failed to carve out a serious career as a Minnesota Viking, but he went on to become one of the biggest draws in UFC history while also becoming the heavyweight champion.

So, you can imagine why there was so much excitement when Lesnar finally returned to the company and is perhaps coming to the end of one of the most dominant runs in WWE history.

However, according to one WWE superstar, Vince McMahon could have utterly ruined the Lesnar character from the get-go, and there would be no sign of The Beast, possibly no Suplex City and considering that gimmick would have failed - Lesnar might not have been the one to conquer The Undertaker’s unbeaten WrestleMania streak either.

Former WWE star Matt Morgan recently appeared on the Why it Ended podcast and revealed that his forgettable stuttering gimmick was initially meant for Lesnar.

STUTTER

According to Bodyslam.net, the idea McMahon had was for Lesnar to have the stutter as he absolutely loved the whole gimmick. However, the reason Vince eventually decided against the idea was because of Lesnar.

According to Morgan, Lesnar reportedly lacked the microphone skills and the confidence to successfully and believably pull off the gimmick.

The gimmick was then given to Morgan and judging on how his WWE career unfolded, fans should be thankful that despite there being a lot of dissent towards Lesnar right now, he wasn’t stuck with a weak gimmick that might have ruined his career before it had even started.

Instead of the stutter, WWE stuck with ‘The Next Big Thing’ as the moniker with Lesnar going on to achieve a great deal during his first run. He became the youngest WWE Champion at the time by defeating The Rock, he proved he was versatile when he incorporated some comedy during his promos and showed that he was born to be a monster.
