The WWE recently hit the O2 Arena in London, England for episodes of both Monday Night RAW and SmackDown Live as a part of the company's European Tour.

In addition to this, WWE also held several live events throughout Europe, including Ronda Rousey's first singles match. One major star was missing from the bunch over in Europe, however, and some fans were a bit disappointed not to see him.

Former WWE and World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton was nowhere to be seen on the European tour this week.

It turns out that Orton is not obligated to attend these events. Per a report from Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Orton's contract with WWE requires him to work a limited touring schedule.

At this point in his career, The Viper is placing more prominence on TV appearances for the company instead of competing at live events. Orton is not injured or anything of the sort, he simply didn't need to attend the tour and is enjoying time at home with his family.

Orton has been in the professional wrestling business his entire life and has been with WWE for almost 20 years.

At this point in his career, it's fair to say he's earned the right to cut back on the amount of WWE live events he works.

Despite missing live events Orton is still in a formidable role on SmackDown Live, as he was recently in the United States Title picture.

He also won 2017's Royal Rumble match before going on to WrestleMania 33 to win the WWE Title from Bray Wyatt.

In all, Orton is still at a very high point in his career, still winning World Titles and being featured as a top star in the company.

Despite his absence from the European tour, the events have been going rather well. The only exception would be the unfortunate injury to Charlotte Flair that required her to get emergency dental surgery.

Aside from that, WWE couldn't be happier with the business they're doing at the moment. Especially after the major paycheck they're set to collect from their Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia.

What are your thoughts on Orton not being required to be a part of the European tour? Do you think that he has earned the right to cut back on live events at this point in his career? And how much longer do you think Orton has in his wrestling career? Let us know your thoughts on the matter in the comments section below!
