The final 23-men squads are rolling in for the 2018 World Cup.There's now only 25 days until arguably the biggest tournament in sport kicks off in Russia. It's fair to say there isn't a single supporter who isn't looking forward to one month of almost solid top level football and all the biggest stars will be there.Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, Antoine Griezmann and David de Gea will all be gunning for the ultimate prize later in July. However, the fact squads are limited to 23 players inevitably means that some big name players are left disappointed as the competition approaches. In the case of England, Jack Wilshere and Joe Hart were the notable absentees.

France name their 23-man squad

It can be quite the blow for a player, too, with four years of hard work building up to the tournament and another four years lying in wait until their next attempt.

And one of the most competitive squads to break into, is undoubtedly that of France.

Seldom does a week go by without a Facebook post outlining Les Bleus' incredible strength in depth and it's inevitable that Didier Deschamps would have to reject some big name players.

Deschamps made the announcement on Thursday night and fans were shocked to see that the likes of Alexandre Lacazette, Dimitri Payet and Adrien Rabiot had missed out.

Check out the full squad below:

Notice another notable absentee? That's right, Anthony Martial.

The Manchester United man has enjoyed a solid third season at Old Trafford but the arrival of Alexis Sanchez has coincided with a wane in form. It seems four months off the boil was too damning for Deschamps.

Fans: News confirms Martial should leave Utd

It attracted some pretty interesting reaction on Twitter, too.

While 'Martial FC' all rolled in with accusations against Jose Mourinho, the general consensus was that - for his own good - this news should prompt him to leave United.

Take a look at the reaction below:

In fairness, the suggestion isn't as drastic as it may seem.

Martial isn't exactly confined to the bench at United yet it goes without saying that Mourinho isn't giving him the kind of game-time he requires to progress at his age.

For the sake of his development and making future French squads, it might be beneficial in the long-term to wave goodbye to United.

What nobody can doubt is the talent Martial has at his disposal and it would be a huge shame if it went to waste.

His exclusion from the squad should - if nothing else - encourage action from Martial, whatever that may be.
