It's no secret that Big Cass is in some hot water with the WWE right now - but it looks like the heat he has garnered backstage is worse than initially believed.

Cass was brought back from injury shortly after WrestleMania 34 and was moved to the SmackDown Live grand by way of the Superstar Shake-Up. From the way he was being presented, it looked like WWE was going to give him a pretty big push.

He was thrown into a feud with top WWE fan-favorite Daniel Bryan, which led to a bout between the pair at the company's Backlash pay-per-view (PPV).

Shortly before that match, however, Cass hosted a segment in which he got a look-alike Bryan, who was a little person, and had him come out and mimic Bryan's movements.

At the end of the segment, original plans called for Cass to simply hit the little person with the Big Boot and be done with it. However, Cass went off-script and beat the little person down more than what he was supposed to.

Cass had pitched this idea backstage to Vince McMahon a few times before the show, and it was shot down. Apparently, Cass decided to do it anyways and now suffers from it.

He was not used on the next episode of SmackDown Live after losing to Daniel Bryan at Backlash, but it seems that his feud with Bryan will continue on.

Bryan Alvarez recently discussed the matter in the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Live and revealed just how bad Cass' heat is.

He reports that Cass has "massive" heat on him backstage, and it's not just because of the litter person incidents.

Apparently this isn't the first time that Big Cass has done "stupid stuff" before. Here's what he had to say (quotes via 411 Mania):

"This is not the first time stupid stuff has happened with Cass“

It should be interesting to see if this incident affects how WWE pushes Cass as a singles competitor moving forward.

What are your thoughts on Cass reportedly having "massive" heat backstage for his antics? Do you think that Cass went too far with assaulting the little person inside the ring? And do you think it will affect his singles push? Let us know your thoughts on the matter in the comments section below!
