Let's be honest here, Antonio Conte's Chelsea future isn't looking good.

Memories of their title winning season last year now feel incredibly distant and it's easy to forget that Conte masterminded one of the greatest Premier League campaigns in the competition's history.

Just like Leicester City and Jose Mourinho's Chelsea side, though, defending the title has proven an incredibly difficult task and the Blues have slid down to fifth place.

Failure to qualify for the Champions League is undoubtedly a massive blow to the club and you've got to wonder whether victory in the FA Cup final would really swing opinion.

Reports are continuing to circle that this summer will bring an end to Conte's Chelsea tenure.

Conte facing summer sacking

Gone are the jovial press conferences, the wild celebrations and more than likely his job.

Besides, rumours are already spreading as to whom Roman Abramovich will choose to replace the Italian over the summer.

The likes of Maurizio Sarri, Luis Enrique and Massimiliano Allegri have all been tipped to inherit the reins at Stamford Bridge.

As a result, it seems Chelsea are already putting plans in place for their activity in the summer transfer window in a bid to recoup their Champions League status.

Chelsea draw up summer transfer list

It wouldn't surprise fans if the west London club decided to splash the clash a little more freely this summer.

And according to the Daily Mail, the club has already drawn up a transfer list for Conte's successor and two of the names have been leaked.

The first player on Chelsea's hit-list is box-to-box midfielder Jean Michael Seri.

Chelsea are already in discussions with the Nice player who could provide a more stable option than Tiemoue Bakayoko alongside N'Golo Kante. It's worth noting that they continue to face competition from Arsenal, though.

The second player? Manchester United's very own Anthony Martial.

After three seasons at Old Trafford, questions are beginning to be raised about the winger's future and his exclusion from France's World Cup squad could be the final straw.

Chelsea are set to join the race for his signature alongside Tottenham and Juventus.

Barring any dramatic plot twist, Chelsea will be employing a new manager this summer and it's clear to see they'll have substantial backing upon their arrival.

If the Blues can wrap up the signings of Seri and Martial, their side would certainly be looking stronger going into the new season.

You get the feeling, though, that with both Manchester clubs set to spend big that Chelsea might need a little more to return to title contention.

That being said, you never know with a club that can leap from 10th to the title in just a year.
