Liverpool youngster Juan Lescano has completed a move to Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid after work permit problems allowed him to leave Merseyside.
The 17-year-old has been touted as the ‘new Didier Drogba’ by Madrid’s scouting network and will come as a blow to the Reds.
The Argentine has been training with Liverpool for the last four months after former boss Rafael Benitez brought him to England.
Lescano showed great promise and the Anfield side moved quickly to put a permanent deal in place.
However, Lescano failed to gain a work permit and, threrfore, was entitled to move elsewhere and he will now link up with fellow countrymen Gonzalo Higuain and Angel di Maria.
Despite being disappointed at leaving Liverpool, Lescano announced his delight at the switch.
"At Liverpool people like (Javier) Mascherano and (Emiliano) Insua helped me a lot, but after the legal problems this is a big opportunity for me," he told Skysports.com.
