There is just eight days to go before Liverpool's Champions League final against Real Madrid, where the Reds are aiming to win their sixth European Cup title.

Jurgen Klopp's men are currently in Marbella as they prepare for their showdown in Kiev.

And the German manager has explained why he has decided to travel to Spain just a week before the final.

“It’s about being together, having nothing else to do and not thinking about anything else – and then having a little rest," he stated.

“We have a few things to do. We have time to prepare for the game, which we want to do. We have time to recharge our batteries, and that’s what we’ll do.

“Here, we can close the door when we are in the hotel or on the training ground – and that’s the reason we’re here.

“After one little session, which was mainly a recovery, I know already it was the right decision again.”

JAMES MILNER DESTROYS ANDY ROBERTSON ON INSTAGRAM

James Milner was once considered to be boring, but since joining social media he has been far from it.

And he has just sent a hilarious post about Andy Robertson on their Marbella trip.

Unfortunately for Robertson, it seems that he is currently suffering from sunburn, and Milner has exposed his issues to the world.

Milner posted a picture of the Scotsman alongside 'Squashies', a popular sweet which is half red and half white.

Absolutely superb.

The resemblance is uncanny.

Not only does the post again express Milner's funny personality, but it also shows that the team are in good spirits ahead of the final.

KLOPP CLAIMS LIVERPOOL DESERVE TO BE IN THE FINAL

Ahead of the final, Klopp has explained his belief that the team deserve to be where they are.

“In our case, we’ve played in the Champions League without pressure most of the time,” Klopp told UEFA.com.

“We entered the competition for the first time in a while and we quickly realised that we had a good chance.

“We aren’t anyone else. We are Liverpool, on the way to becoming a really good team, and performing at such a high level is very cool.

“To summarise, it’s been a crazy ride. But, after all, we’ve earned our place here.”
