Although Vasyl Lomachenko stunned the boxing world yet again on Saturday night, one incident during the fight has resulted in a section of fans believing he would struggle against particular fighters.

Hi-Tech continued to display his terrific footwork and an all-around confusing style to combat, as he picked up a 10th round TKO win over the dangerous Jorge Linares. The result inside of Madison Square Garden saw the Ukrainian create history by claiming three world championships in three different weight divisions in only 12 fights.

HI-TECH

However, the moment Linares managed to get through Lomachenko’s guard and put him down in the sixth round, many have been discussing how Lomachenko would fare against somebody like Mikey Garcia.

Since the result, the unbeaten Garcia has claimed that he could stop Lomachenko while stating that he doesn’t believe he’s a phenomenon like the rest of the world feels.

Now, Floyd Mayweather is in the same boat as he’s reportedly reached out to Top Rank to have Lomachenko face off against Gervonta Davis - a fighter Mayweather believes will stop Lomachenko if they ever fight.

Top Rank’s Bob Arum recently claimed that Money was seeking the fight as he wanted to see Tank get punished. However, Mayweather’s recent comments suggest he wholeheartedly believes in Davis should they ever meet with Lomachenko now competing in the lightweight division, while the Baltimore native is fighting in the super featherweight division.

Mayweather has now claimed that not only does Garcia hit harder than Lomachenko, but Davis would have stopped Lomachenko had he had the opening Linares had when he spoke to Fight Hype.

SMELLING BLOOD

According to Boxing Scene, he said: “Lomachenko is a solid fighter, but I can tell Tank what to do if the fight ever happened - which I don’t think it’s going to happen. The fight that I think is going up happen is that Mikey Garcia will end up fighting Lomachenko. I don’t think Lomachenko hits as hard as Mikey Garcia; I don’t think so.

“The shot he got hit with wasn’t even a hard shot. And I’ll tell you this, I truly believe that Gervonta is a much, much bigger puncher than Linares. If Gervonta would have dropped Lomachenko, he would have finished him. He’s a finisher.

"When he gets you hurt, it’s not like a Money Mayweather. The thing you got to understand about Money Mayweather - is by that time, the body was broken down. No, ‘Pretty Boy Floyd’ would have gone for the kill. He’s like a ‘Pretty Boy Floyd’ going for the kill when he smells blood.”

Mayweather wants Davis to fight him, Anthony Crolla is interested in trying his luck while Garcia is also confident of beating him.

There’s no denying that Lomachenko is a wanted man, and fans will want him to be tested against the best with a potential clash against Davis expected to create an extensive debate.
