British boxing in 2018 has another very exciting chapter on Saturday night.

After an enthralling year for the sport so far, Lee Selby and Josh Warrington meet at Elland Road to fight for the IBF world featherweight title.

And to make it even better, the winner of the bout will get the honour of fighting Carl Frampton at Windsor Park next.

Warrington is aware that Selby goes into the fight as the overwhelming favourite, but believes the home crowd in Leeds could play a part.

“I’m a massive underdog so I don’t feel there is pressure,” said Warrington. “This is the biggest show he has boxed on, there’s not often a stadium fight and it’s been a while since Lee topped a show. There will be a lot more attention, a lot more focus. I can’t say how he’s going to react. Some fighters are undone by the atmosphere.”

Anything can happen in boxing. It's been well-documented in the build-up to the fight that the pair are not too fond of each other, but what happened after the weigh-in on Friday was simply disgraceful.

Late Friday night, footage emerged to support reports from earlier claiming that Warrington's fans attacked Selby's bus as it left the weigh-in.

You can watch the horrible footage below.

It's a sight rarely seen in boxing, with fans often taking 'the best fighter wins' route.

And lovers of the sport were livid with the scenes in Leeds, with the comment section on the video and fans on Twitter really giving them a piece of their minds.

BOXING FANS REACT

We can only hope that the hostility doesn't boil over at Elland Road.

And Selby has said that he is not fearful of Warrington's home advantage, claiming it's simply another title defence.

"It's only four hours up the road from my home so it's not so much of a lions' den to me," he said.

"The title is world champion. I should be ready to defend my title anywhere in the world. The support is irrelevant, it's just another defence to me, another fight."

After the ugly scenes seen above, Selby probably has the majority of neutral support now.
