You know what they say - anything can happen in sport. From the truly bizarre, to the hilarious, to the quite frankly ridiculous, sport provides us all with memorable moments.Sometimes those moments are good, sometimes they are bad, and sometimes they are simply amusing.Well, we had another memorable sporting moment yesterday, and luckily for us, it was caught on video. The tennis season may be picking up as we approach the French Open at the end of the month, but during a match at one of the main warm-up events for it, the players weren't the centre of attention. At the Italian Open in Rome, there was a rather unexpected visitor, as a cat sprinted across the court mid-point during a men's doubles game, leading to the point having to be replayed. After narrowly being missed by an overhead smash, the feline invader didn't stay out in the middle for long, as it sprinted from one side of the clay court to the other before disappearing off camera. With Lukasz Kubot and Marcelo Melo battling against Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah for a place in the semi-finals of the tournament, the cat was clearly the only spectator unaware of the situation as it inadvertently stole the show, much to the amusement of onlookers.Watch the bizarre moment from the Italian Open in the video below.

It's safe to say tennis fans enjoyed the cat invasion too, and they simply couldn't stop laughing.

The video was soon put onto Twitter and was an instant hit, with hundreds of people retweeting it, and thousands liking it.

Kubot and Melo may have been less impressed, though, as they crashed out in straight sets.

A similar incident happened a couple of years ago in the Qatar Open, though, the cats involved haven't yet admitted if the two court invasions were linked.

With the Italian Open nearly over, that means one thing - the French Open is right around the corner.
