Lee Selby heads into tonight's IBF world featherweight bout against Josh Warrington with the backing of former welterweight champion Ricky Hatton.

The fight, which will be held at Elland Road, home of Leeds United on Saturday, is a homecoming for Warrington, where he will come up against Welshman Selby.

It is a fight that has gripped the boxing supporters in Britain, and ahead of the clash between the pair in Yorkshire, Selby, who will be up against the 25,000-strong crowd backing their local fighter to a win, has received some support from a former professional.

However, Selby has received vocal support in the form of Mancunian Hatton, who believes that the Barry-native will have enough to defeat Warrington, despite the latter being unbeaten so far.

Selby, aged 31, will commence his fifth defence of his IBF world title, though, he is set to face a fierce test when he gets into the ring for the fight this evening.

Hatton, a two-time weight champion, feels that a points victory for Selby could be on the cards, and he's tipped him for success tonight.

Speaking to www.boxingscene.com, Hatton had his say on his predictions for the bout.

"It’s a genuine 50-50 fight.

"Being undefeated, Josh will certainly turn up full of beans and brimming with confidence and that fabulous Leeds crowd will certainly spur him on and give him momentum.

"But, Lee Selby is a very experienced and talented fighter who’s very big at the weight.

"I think Lee will ultimately have too much for Josh. Selby on points."

Tonight's fight is set to get underway at some point after 10:15pm, and it's certainly one you won't want to miss.

The winner will likely end up fighting Carl Frampton in the near future, which adds an extra element to the fight.
