The Cleveland Cavaliers' season hangs in the balance as they prepare to take on the Boston Celtics in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals trailing 2-0.

Boston protected their home court in the first two games and the Cavs will have to do the same if they want to get back in the series.

It'll be down to head coach Tyronn Lue to make the necessary adjustments to dig them out of the hole they're in.

One change he's hoping to see from his team is a quicker pace.

"We have to come out with a sense of urgency to attack early, don't ease into the game or let this team off the hook," Lue said, per ESPN's Dave McMenamin. "We know they play well at home and they had two good games, so now it's our turn."

The Cavaliers have struggled badly on both ends of the floor so far in the series and have averaged just 88.5 points in their two losses.

They've found it tough against the stellar defence of the Celtics and Lue believes the only way to counter that is to get out in transition as often as possible to get clean shots before they can set their defence.

"Anyone who has been here and around knows Ty always stresses that," Kevin Love said. That's something we've always preached here. You see they have been able to contest so many of our shots, which always brings the percentages down.

"When you are able to play with pace, you are able to let LeBron play downhill and the other guys play downhill. It opens up the floor and lets us get the shots we want and shoot a higher percentage.

"That's key for us, and it's something we stressed not only in our film session but in practice the last few days."

It will also be important for Cleveland to have their role players step up and provide enough help for LeBron James offensively.

He posted a 42-point triple-double in Game 2 but it wasn't enough as they had just three players in double figures compared to Boston's six.

They'll certainly need much more from their backcourt of J.R. Smith and George Hill who have been extremely poor in terms of scoring thus far.

There will certainly be a sell-out crowd inside Quicken Loans Arena but it'll be down to the Wine and Gold to take advantage of that and claw their way back into the conference finals.
