Champions Juventus beat Hellas Verona 2-1 in their final Serie A match of the season on Saturday. All eyes were on 40-year-old Gianluigi Buffon, who was playing his final ever game for the Old Lady after 17 years at the club. The legendary Italian goalkeeper was subbed off in the 62nd minute at the Juventus Stadium - and it was a very emotional farewell.A tifo had been specially made for Buffon and Juventus supporters also unfurled a banner which read: "Only those who try the absurd reach the impossible".Buffon has decided not to retire and has been heavily linked with a move to French giants PSG.Back on the pitch, Juventus celebrated their seventh consecutive league title in the rain after the full-time whistle. And a clip involving Moroccan international Medhi Benatia went viral on social media after he went up to collect his medal.

Benatia's awkward handshake

The former Roma defender took some of the limelight away from Buffon on social media with a truly embarrassing moment.

Going up to collect his medal, Benatia paused to shake the hands of the models - but it did not go to plan!

Ouch

Benatia's mishap evoked memories of Nicklas Bendtner's time at Juventus.

The Danish striker also stopped to shake the hands of the models, back in 2013, but received a much warmer response.

That's how it's done.

Twitter was in hysterics at Benatia's expense - the poor guy probably wanted the ground to swallow him up.

Benatia had posted a touching tribute to Buffon on Instagram ahead of the 2-1 win.

"It will be a very bad goodbye for me and for all of us," wrote Benatia.

"I don't know what to tell you. I just want to thank you for everything you've taught me thanks to your way of living, to be and to win."

"You were the greatest champion I've ever had the fortune to play with. A great person, I'm going to miss you so much. I'm happy and proud to have played and won with you."
