Dan Henderson would come back for one more fight.

However, there’s a catch to making this happen. To tell this story right, you have to look at Henderson’s last fight.

The middleweight title bout between Michael Bisping and Dan Henderson at the UFC 204 pay-per-view (PPV) event was a classic. UFC 204 took place on Saturday, October 8, 2016 in Manchester, England.

The UFC Fight Pass prelims started at 6:30PM/3:30PM ETPT with two bouts while the FOX Sports 1 prelims aired at 8PM/5PM ETPT with four bouts. The main card (PPV) aired at 10PM/7PM ETPT with four bouts.

Despite taking a beating, the judges award the unanimous decision victory to Bisping after twenty five minutes.

'The Count' survived early knockdowns and some heavy facial damage to earn the win. However, Bisping did not attend the post-event press conference due to a trip to the hospital.

Bisping made his first title defense against Henderson since winning the title against Luke Rockhold back at UFC 199.

After this fight with Henderson, he lost the title to former UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre at the UFC 217 pay-per-view event in November of 2017 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

There is a lot of history between Bisping and Henderson including their fight at UFC 100 where Henderson KO’d Bisping in a light heavyweight bout. They have also fought former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, which was brought up during the hype for their second fight at UFC 204.

Henderson, who is a multiple-promotion world champion and has been competing in MMA (mixed martial arts) for 19-years, couldn’t beat Silva when they fought at UFC 82. The fight took place eight years ago for the middleweight title, which Silva held at the time.

Silva was considered the greatest fighter on the planet and submitted Henderson in the second round of their fight.

Bisping has fought Silva as well and has beaten the MMA legend. Bisping defeated Silva at UFC Fight Night 84 earlier this year in a back and forth slugfest.

Bisping ended up picking up the unanimous decision victory and went on to capture the middleweight title.

In a recent interview with MMA Junkie, Henderson addressed what would bring him out of retirement for another pro-MMA fight. Here is what he had to say:

“I have no plan on getting back in there. I wouldn’t say wasting their time if they had a lot of money.”
