While the Liverpool squad appear to have had a relaxing time in Marbella this week ahead of the Champions League final, Real Madrid have been busy preparing for their final La Liga match of the season against Villarreal. There wasn’t much at stake for Zinedine Zidane’s side on Saturday night with them already a guaranteed third-placed finish but they would no doubt have wanted to finish on a high.It looked as though that would be the case as Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo put Los Blancos 2-0 ahead within the first half hour. However, the Champions League finalists could only escape Estadio de la Ceramica with a point.Roger Martinez pulled a goal back with 20 minutes remaining and, with five minutes left, Samu Castillejo equalised for The Yellow Submarine. And how the Villarreal equaliser arrived had Liverpool fans licking their lips.Much has been made of the fascinating match-up of Real’s Marcelo and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah.

MARCELO VS SALAH

The Brazilian left-back loves to bomb forward but can be caught out defensively. As for Salah, well he’s just been ridiculous this season.

And what Marcelo did for Villarreal’s equaliser was just madness.

With just a few minutes left on the clock, Marcelo can be seen playing with his hair as Villarreal have possession.

He then attempts to play a ridiculous offside trap on Castillejo - which really didn’t work.

It allowed the Villarreal man a clear run as he rounded Luca Zidane and tapped it in.

MARCELO'S TERRIBLE DEFENDING

It was crazy defending from Marcelo and if he attempts to play with his hair - or try and play an offside trap - next week, Salah is going to have a field day.

LIVERPOOL FANS REACT

Just look at what the Liverpool fans were saying:

And if Liverpool weren’t already excited at the prospect of Salah facing Marcelo, former Egypt captain Mohamed Aboutrika claims the Real defender is “terrified” of the Liverpool star.

"I witnessed on that pitch what Salah can do to Marcelo during the Olympic Games.

"I was playing with Egypt against Brazil. Marcelo is terrified of Salah. I noticed the same thing in the Champions League when AS Roma played against Real Madrid."
