Jamie Vardy has gone under the radar a little bit this season, but he's still had a superb campaign.
The English striker helped his side to a ninth place finish in the Premier League after bagging 20 Premier League goals.
He scored twice in the Foxes final game of the season against Tottenham, and after the game Claude Puel was quick to praise the popular forward.
“I am happy with his work of course and his mentality,” said Puel after the defeat to Spurs.
“He doesn’t just score goals but he gives the team a boost with his pressing and his character.
“It is a good feeling to score 20 goals with the quality. I hope in the future we can continue to give him good service and a lot of goals.”
VARDY COULD MAKE UNEXPECTED MOVE
Vardy was very close to a move away from the King Power Stadium back in 2016 when Arsenal had a £22 million bid accepted.
However, the former Fleetwood striker opted to stay.
Vardy has not been the subject of transfer rumours since, but one emerged on Saturday night which would be unexpected to say the least.
The Mirror report that Atletico Madrid and Diego Simeone want Vardy to be their new number nine.
The Europa League champions look set to lose Antoine Griezmann to Barcelona this summer, and view Vardy as the perfect replacement.
Simeone is believed to have been impressed with the 31-year-old when the two sides met in the Champions League last season.
Leicester are reluctant to let him go and have offered him a new deal.
But the report reads that an offer of over £20 million will be enough to tempt Leicester into doing business.
DOES THE MOVE MAKE SENSE?
It would be a truly unexpected transfer, that's for sure.
English players very rarely leave the Premier League to play abroad, especially in La Liga.
There is currently no Englishman plying their trade in Spain's top tier.
Making the leap from Leicester to one of the best teams in world football would be a huge one indeed.
But, the more you think about it, the more it makes sense.
Atletico are in desperate need of a striker with Griezmann and Fernando Torres both set to leave.
And secondly, he would fit Simeone's defensive style of play perfectly.
Known as one of the most energetic strikers in world football with good defensive capabilities, Vardy would fit the Argentine's philosophy perfectly.
He could form a potentially lethal partnership with Diego Costa, who would no doubt welcome the 31-year-old as his new forward partner.
It would be a sensational transfer, but it could also be a terrific move for Vardy.
