WWE fans are still going to have contrasting opinions on the in-ring return of Daniel Bryan.

Some won’t be happy with how things have unfolded since his WrestleMania 34 comeback; primarily because he’s been featured in an underwhelming feud with Big Cass while others don’t want to see Bryan rushed to the top too soon without adding the emotion back into his storylines.

IN-RING RETURN

Obviously, Bryan is going to be slightly rusty inside of the ring considering he’s been out of action for around two years. That’s not to say he’s lost a step, but it’s going to take some time for Bryan to reach those same heights where he continued to steal the show.

While remaining in character, The Miz claimed that Bryan isn’t on his level yet - the perfect way to continue building towards their highly anticipated feud. Now, Bryan has admitted that The Miz might be right while claiming that he doesn’t think he’s the best in-ring performer right now.

Instead, Bryan believes Monday Night RAW’s Seth Rollins and SmackDown LIVE’s AJ Styles are the best, based on the incredible matches they’ve been having when he spoke to SPORTBible recently.

According to Wrestling Inc, he said: “If you were to look at Miz's matches since I've come back, he's got a point.

"His match with [Seth] Rollins at Backlash, that was by far the best match on the pay-per-view. When I lost to Rusev, he wrestled Jeff Hardy - which was a fantastic match. The knock on Miz for years was that he was a great talker but so-so in the ring. This happened with [John] Cena too where people were like, 'This guy can't wrestle' and while they are saying they can't wrestle, they learn to wrestle and learn to be the best as far as in-ring stuff.

TOP QUALITY MATCHES

"On the independent scene when I was with Ring of Honor, people thought I was the best wrestler in the world - fans would chant it, and I think the fans would believe it because they wanted to believe that their guy is better than the WWE guys.

“But never once have I considered myself the best - I look at AJ Styles, and I look at Rollins right now. I saw these matches with Miz were great but Rollins is in those matches - and I don’t know what is different, but now he’s clicking on every level.

“It almost feels like it was for me in 2013 where he’s not the top guy on RAW, but he’s starting to get those top guy reactions, more so than other people. You look at these people and think, ‘Ah, he’s better than me at this.’ So, if Miz says I’m not on his level, I look at it like, ‘Maybe I’m not’ and that motivates me. How do I get on his level?”

Rollins has been drawing universal praise this year for putting on one incredible match after another, while there’s no denying the quality of AJ Styles and the world he does in the ring.

While Bryan might not be mixing it up with the greatest opponents right now, a feud with either of those names down the line would undoubtedly see him reach that level again - where he deserves to be.
