When he finally calls it a day on his career, LeBron James will go down as one of the greatest players to have ever played in the NBA and he's bound to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer. He already owns so many NBA records, but he very well could own another by this time next week.

James was a stud as he helped the Cavaliers defeat the Boston Celtics 116-86 at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland on Saturday in Game 3 of their Eastern Conference Finals series. The Celtics still lead the series 2-1, but the win gives the Cavs a little bit of hope of turning the series around.

LeBron finished the game with 27 points, five rebounds, 12 assists, two steals, and two blocks while shooting 8-of-12 from the field. Throughout his career in the playoffs, the Cavaliers star has made 2,351 field goals, and following last night's game, he's not far away from becoming the all-time leader in the stat line.

During his time with the Milwaukee Bucks between 1969 and 1975, and with the Los Angeles Lakers between 1975 and 1989, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar made 2,356 field goals in 237 playoff games.

What this means is over the next two games minimum which will be played in the Eastern Conference Finals series, James only has to score another five to tie, or another six to become the all-time leader in playoff field goals made.

Not only will he become the new leader, but he will also do it in fewer games, as so far, he has only played in 217 playoff games in his career with the Cavaliers and the Miami Heat. The closest active player to him is Tony Parker of the San Antonio Spurs who is ninth on the overall list and has 1,613 playoff field goals made.

LeBron is already the all-time playoff leader in points, steals, minutes played, field goal attempts, 3-point field goal attempts, free throws, and turnovers, so this will just be another impressive record to add to his growing collection once he most likely achieves it sometime in the next week.

The King isn't showing any signs of slowing down yet either, so his final number of playoff field goal made could be way beyond 2,357 before he decides to call it a day on his playing career.

He will have a chance to break the record when the Cavs and Celtics play next in Game 4 of their series on Monday night.
