Ronda Rousey is now fully invested in her professional wrestling career, and she has some big opportunities coming her way very soon.
The Rowdy One made her professional wrestling debut at WrestleMania 34 when she teamed up with WWE Hall Of Famer and current RAW General Manager Kurt Angle to defeat Stephanie McMahon and Triple H in Mixed Tag Team action.
She has since made sporadic appearances on RAW and also competed on the WWE's European Tour in Six-Man Tag Team matches where she teamed with Ember Moon and Natalya.
It was recently announced that Rousey will be challenging Nia Jax for the RAW Women's Championship at the upcoming Money In The Bank (MITB) pay-per-view (PPV) event next month.
This will not only be Rousey's first singles match in WWE, but her first opportunity at a WWE Title.
The opportunity comes at an interesting time, as Rousey is extremely young in her wrestling career and hasn't really done anything to earn the title opportunity.
Regardless, Rousey is set to challenge for the WWE's ultimate prize. It's likely that Rousey will not win the match and instead be screwed out of the title by someone like Stephanie McMahon, to continue that feud.
For someone very young in the business, Rousey has been thrusted into the spotlight very quickly in her career. That may go to some people's heads in the same position, but according to a report from Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio, Rousey is handling things very well.
Apparently everyone says Rousey is staying extremely humble backstage, and is simply happy to be in the position she is in. This is very refreshing to WWE personnel backstage, who may have been expecting much different (quotes via Ringside News):
“I know this from several different people there. Attitude wise, 100% tremendous. No negativity there. She’s happy she loves doing this. She’s a hard worker.
"She has absolutely no stuck up star issue in this whatsoever.
"There’s no ego thing there, in fact it’s the opposite everyone’s talked about how refreshing it is that she is so humble for as big a star that she is.
“So she doesn’t come in with the attitude a lot of guys that came in from football and all this came in and walked around like they were real sh*t or what some people will do.”
“All of those things and the fact she’s a great athlete and in her first match she did absolutely tremendous.
"All that leads me to that in time when she has two years under her belt because of her attitude that she probably won’t need to be carried and she’ll probably be pretty damn good.”
What are your thoughts on Rousey staying humble in her current position in WWE? Do you think that Rousey will win the RAW Women's Title at MITB? And do you think she'll keep a straight head on her shoulders in the continuous spotlight? Let us know your thoughts on the matter in the comments section below!
