It's been a bad weekend for Jose Mourinho.

That's mainly because his Manchester United side were beaten 1-0 in the FA Cup final by his former club, Chelsea.

Belgium's Eden Hazard scored the only goal of the game from the penalty spot after he was hauled down by Phil Jones.

The Red Devils won two trophies in Mourinho's first year in charge - but he's failed to win anything this season.

"I congratulate them but I don't think they deserved to win," said United's Portuguese coach in his post-match interview.

"I am Manchester United manager and I have to be respectful, not just because they are my previous club but because they are the opponents today and I think we deserved to win."

The style of football has not been brilliant this season and Mourinho's popularity in Manchester is quite clearly beginning to wane.

Mourinho and Instagram

The 55-year-old coach joined the social media platform in 2016 and has already amassed 2.8 million followers during his time at Old Trafford.

However, on Sunday morning - after receiving plenty of online abuse from Man United supporters - Mourinho deactivated his account.

Man United fans on Twitter may have their concerns with Mourinho - but were disgusted by those who forced their manager to delete his account.

Frankly, it's pathetic for human beings to act this way.

In January, Mourinho signed a contract extension at Man United which ties him to the club until 2020.

The fans who abused Mourinho better get used to him because he'll almost definitely still be in dugout at the start of the 2018/19 season.

This kind of behaviour online is completely unacceptable.

Mourinho told reporters he has "worked like an animal for 10 months" in his press conference after the disappointing defeat to Chelsea.

"I am quite curious [to read your opinions] because I am now on holiday and I have more time for that," said the enigmatic Man United manager.

"But I have worked like an animal for 10 months and I go away with my head completely clean.

"I gave everything, the players gave everything, I am happy."

Will Mourinho be able to get the Man United fanbase onside next season? Or is it the beginning of the end of his time in Manchester?
