Manchester United were beaten 1-0 by Chelsea in the FA Cup final on Saturday evening.

Belgian winger Eden Hazard beat David De Gea from the penalty spot after being fouled by Phil Jones in the 21st minute.

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger won the Man of the Match award - but there were some horrendous individual performances among the Man United XI.

Man United legend Paul Scholes was highly critical of Alexis Sanchez after a disappointing Wembley display.

"His performances, well they have to improve," Scholes told BT Sport. "They can't get any worse to be honest with you.

"I think the next few games of next season are vital to him, he needs to get fans believing again and believing they are going to get close to City. They need a big player.

"Paul Pogba does not win you games on his own. (Eden) Hazard does. Alexis Sanchez doesn't, he's shown that since January."

Mourinho furious at two players

Former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho won three trophies in his debut season at Old Trafford but failed to win any silverware this year.

He wasn't happy with two Man United players after their FA Cup final defeat.

According to the Daily Mail, the 55-year-old coach was "furious" at Romelu Lukaku and Marouane Fellaini because he feels they were protecting themselves for the World Cup.

Lukaku, 25, is the club's top goalscorer this season but told Mourinho he wasn't fit to start against Chelsea after suffering an ankle injury earlier in May.

"When a player tells you he is not ready to start, then the question is how many minutes do you think you can play," said Mourinho when asked about Lukaku afterwards.

"How can I convince a player who tells me he is not ready to play?"

He came off the bench in the 73rd minute but failed to make much of an impact.

Meanwhile, Lukaku's international teammate missed the last three games of the season with a muscle strain - and Fellaini didn't even make the squad on Saturday.

As per the Daily Mail, Mourinho believes Fellaini and Lukaku's unwillingness to play "sums up a weak mentality in his squad".

Fellaini's contract expires this summer and the 30-year-old midfielder has reportedly received a three-year contract offer from AC Milan.
