One of the hottest topics in the professional wrestling world right now, and in the pop culture world overall, is the unexpected break-up of longtime WWE Superstar John Cena and Nikki Bella.

The last several years Cena and Bella have been dating, and their private lives have been featured on Total Bellas and Total Divas on the E! Network.

Cena and Bella seemed very much in love over the past several seasons, making the news of their split even more shocking.

Just after the release of his new film "Blockers," Cena and Bella released a joint statement to the press announcing their split as a couple.

Over the past several weeks rumors have been swirling around indicating why the split happened. Last year at WrestleMania 33, Cena and Bella got engaged live on pay-per-view (PPV) when The Leader Of The Cenation proposed after their Mixed Tag Team match win over The Miz and Maryse.

They were scheduled to be married several weeks ago, but of course, that did not happen.

Reports have surfaced online indicating that Cena is a mess after breaking up with Bella, and it also turns out Nikki called the wedding off.

For the longest time Bella has wanted to be married and have kids, two things Cena doesn't seem too fond of.

He recently changed his mind about marriage after proposing to Bella at WrestleMania, but not really on kids.

It appears this is the reported reason Bella decided to call off the wedding. Both Cena and Bella have been doing promotional work for the new season of Total Bellas, and have talked openly about their break-up.

With how open both have been about their break-up, many believe their split could very well be a work to hype the show's new season.

Cena recently came out and said that he wants to marry Nikki and have children with her, making many scratch their heads as to why Cena would say something so personal on such a national platform.

According to a report from WrestlingNews.co, most people backstage in WWE know John Cena and Nikki Bella are working a break-up angle, and are supposed to get married later this year.

Also, E! Network will be paying for their wedding, which is why it was so easy to cancel the initial wedding date earlier this month.

It should be interesting to see how long it takes for them to go public with their upcoming wedding plans.
