There’s no doubting that Real Madrid will be favourites for the Champions League final on Saturday but Liverpool must fancy their chances.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have already brushed aside Manchester City on their way to Kiev and have been free-scoring this season.
And with Zinedine Zidane’s side having a fairly underwhelming La Liga campaign, finishing third, Liverpool will be quietly confident of winning their sixth European Cup.
If they do stop Real from winning their third consecutive Champions League, Mohamed Salah will no doubt have a big part to play in it.
The Egyptian has scored 44 goals this season, breaking all sorts of record and picking up every possible individual accolade.
And with Marcelo seemingly more focussed on bombing forward than defending, there is a belief that Salah could capitalise with the Brazilian pushing forward.
But there’s a small fear that Salah might not actually be in the best shape for the final.
RAMADAN MIGHT AFFECT SALAH
Because of Ramadan.
Ramadan involves a month of fasting and common practice means Muslims can't eat or drink from dawn to sunset.
That’s certainly not ideal for Salah’s preparations, surely.
While Salah is probably more than familiar with coping with Ramadan, surely it will do him more harm than good ahead of the match.
MORENO ON SALAH'S FASTING
And even his teammate Alberto Moreno has admitted it’s “not going to be easy” for him.
"I have already said that I was going to eat for him as a joke, but it's not going to be easy," Moreno told Marca.
“He's used to Ramadan and sometimes it's even impacted him in pre-season but he's managed things well. Hopefully on the 26th, he has the best match of his life and we'll win the Champions League.”
Of course, Salah takes his faith extremely seriously and you can’t begrudge him from taking part in one of the five pillars of Islam.
Nothing has been able to stop Salah this season and we’re sure Ramadan won’t either.
