The Cleveland Cavaliers have managed to tie things up at 2-2 last night in their Eastern Conference Finals series against the Boston Celtics thanks to a historic night by their main star man, LeBron James, who had his sixth 40-point game of the postseason.

Celtics 102-111 Cavaliers - Game 4 - Series tied at 2-2

The Cavaliers defeated the Celtics 111-102 at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland on Monday night to keep their hopes alive in this year's playoffs after a slow start to the series two games ago. James finished with 44 points, five rebounds, three assists, two steals, and a new place in the NBA record books.

On the night, the four-time MVP winner also shot 17-of-28 from the field. Midway through the second quarter, a jumper allowed him to pass Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most made field goals in NBA playoff history.

Kyle Korver added to the Cavs' points total, adding 14 of his own, while George Hill and Tristan Thompson scored 13 points each as well. As for the Celtics, Jayson Tatum, Marcus Morris, Al Horford, Jaylen Brown, and Terry Rozier all scored double figures, with Brown getting the most with 25

Game 5 takes place on Wednesday night at TD Center in Boston, and both teams know that the series is going to intensify.

James said to ESPN after the game: "We know it's going to be a hostile environment. We know their fans are going to be very energetic. But we have to just have our same mindset we had when we came home for these two games. If our minds are there, we put ourselves in a position to be victorious."

Celtics head coach Brad Stevens is trying to stay positive, as he said: "It's the best two out of three to go to the NBA Finals. Doesn't get better than that. Ultimately, anybody that didn't think this was going to be tough, I mean, everything is tough. In this deal, it's a blast to have to grit your teeth, get up off the mat and go after it again."
