Arsenal are set to appoint Unai Emery as their new manager and it seems everyone has an opinion.

Just when Gooners were resigned to seeing former midfielder Mikel Arteta become their new boss, they were suddenly learning that it will actually be Spaniard Emery to replace Arsene Wenger instead.

Emery’s contract at Paris Saint-Germain wasn’t renewed despite leading them to the domestic treble, while his three consecutive Europa League titles with Sevilla is very impressive.

But many fans still aren’t convinced.

The fact that he doesn’t speak fluent English is obviously a concern but the 46-year-old will be arriving with a very impressive CV.

One man that certainly is convinced is Gary Neville.

Neville knows just how it is to manage in La Liga and, having gone up against him, the former Manchester United defender rates Emery very highly indeed.

GARY NEVILLE SENT 3 TWEETS ON EMERY

Replying to an article Jon Cross had tweeted about Arsenal ‘playing it safe’ with Emery, Neville replied: “He’s a brilliant coach John. Late change in the process?”

But Neville didn’t stop there.

In a conversation with the Mirror’s chief football writer, Neville added two further tweets endorsing Emery.

He wrote: They’ve bounced all over the place on it! However he’s a good appointment for Arsenal. The process a mess…”

Before he added: “You must have been hearing what was going on. Like a pinball... Anyway the end result is a very good coach.”

Arsenal fans will be encouraged by what Neville has said, there’s no doubt about that.

While Neville has pointed to the ‘messy’ process, Arsenal legend Ian Wright branded the whole scenario as “embarrassing.”

“Is it because of the public sway? It just seems really desperate,” Wright said of Arsenal’s decision to suddenly switch from Arteta to Emery.

"Arsenal getting in touch with Vieira for the manager's job was tokenism. It's embarrassing."
