Although there’s a lot of negativity surrounding Brock Lesnar and his reign as Universal Champion right now, there’s no denying that he’s going to go down in the history books for many reasons.
He became the youngest WWE Champion in history at the age of 25. He went on to become the UFC Heavyweight Champion along with enjoying a reign as IWGP Heavyweight Champion before his destructive return to the WWE.
Along with that, he’s on the verge of breaking another record, as he’s edging closer to becoming the longest reigning world champion of the modern era; eclipsing CM Punk’s 434-day reign as WWE Champion.
So, it’s clear that WWE values him highly which is why Vince McMahon refuses to part ways with him so easily, despite a UFC return being in the works for several months now.
If Vince didn’t think of him as a prized asset, he wouldn’t keep him around, he wouldn’t throw millions of dollars his way and he certainly wouldn’t have made the brave call to have The Beast conquer The Undertaker’s streak at WrestleMania XXX.
The reaction from the fans inside of the Mercedes-Benz Superdome when the referee called for the three count spoke volumes, and although Roman Reigns has since become only the second man to inflict a WrestleMania defeat on The Deadman, that honour will always sit with Lesnar.
However, that’s not the only unique Undertaker record Lesnar holds, as there’s one that might never be broken considering The Phenom now competes less and less.
Reddit user ‘DannyDeleto12’ recently brought to light an incredible fact this week, revealing that Lesnar is the only wrestler in history to kick out of The Undertaker’s Tombstone finisher every single time it has been performed on him.
This can date as far back as their feud during Lesnar’s first stint in WWE with The Undertaker using the American Badass gimmick during their lengthy feud. Reigns, however, has only taken one Tombstone from The Undertaker.
During their latest storyline following the end of the streak, The Deadman did manage to exact revenge on one occasion but even then, a Tombstone couldn’t put Lesnar away as fans will fondly remember Lesnar flipping The Undertaker off when locked in the Hell’s Gate as he passed out to lose the match.
Although it might not have been intentional by WWE, repeatedly kicking out of the Tombstone only continues to put Lesnar over as a genuine beast who managed to one-up The Undertaker - something so many have failed to do.
